A rare Indian head emblem from the 103rd Aero Pursuit Squadron of the Lafayette Escadrille, an arm of the French Air Services populated by American volunteers, is up for auction at Bonhams in San Francisco on November 11th, 2010. The panel, cut from a Spad VII by American mechanic Sgt. Emil Forst, is gray/green canvas, and is expected to bring 15-20,000 dollars. Sgt. Forst served during the battles of the Aisne, Champagne Marne, St. Mihiel and the Meuse-Argonne.

William Carls is building a scale model Gatling gun. He has pics of it on Fine Scale Modeler forums and it looks great. It's a 1/16th scale model 1866 1 inch Gatling gun and mostly scratch built, with some pieces (the wheels) from a kit. We here at Old British Guns just love Gatling guns but don't know how this guy has the patience for this stuff. It would be a great addition to any shelf.
