The MG 08/15 was a German modification to the Maxim gun.  The idea was to make a squad weapon out of the heavy MG 08.  It was lightened by 20 lbs, fitted with a buttstock and bipod, but was still chained to the water bucket to keep it cool.  Still heavy at 40 lbs, at least it was mobile, and after deployment in 1917, soon outnumbered all other German machineguns.

This video from AZFUN4ALL's channel, should not only satisfy machine gun freaks, but 19th century machinery fanatics also.  Plastic guns may have their place now, but not in our imagination or WW1 battlefields.
