LERA (Lee Enfield Rifle Assn.) was formed in 1998 dedicated to promoting the use, collection and study of the Lee Enfield series of rifles. Present membership is around 350, and is £30 a year. Someone can also be a non-shooting associate member for around £20 a year. For someone living in or able to visit England, they have quarterly lectures, and there are shooting programs at Bisley and other places. There is a short history of the Smellie on their site and some articles on chargers and shooting, but with membership you get access to their knowledge base and forum.
